Drug Testing
DOT Drug Testing is done using HHS/SAMHSA approved laboratories. All collections and testing are done in accordance with DOT 49 CFR Part 40 Guidelines. All collectors are trained according to DOT Guidelines and re-certified every five years.
Non-DOT urine tests are done utilizing both laboratory and instant technologies.
Customized panel testing of 12 different commonly used drugs including:
Amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, opiates, PCP’s, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, methadone, propoxyphene, methadone, ecstasy, and oxycodone.
All lab-based drug test results are available in 24 hours unless GCMS confirmation is required which can result in an additional 48 hours of testing time.
E-Cup on-site analysis allows the testing of five common drugs: amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, PCP’s, and opiates. When this procedure is used, results are automatically sent to employers within 15 minutes via fax or internet. Any non-negative specimens are sent to the laboratory for confirmation.
Hair Tests can be done to determine prior drug usage going back for three months to a year or more. Expanded panels are available for additional drugs. Turnaround time is less than a week.
All drug tests can be done on-site or in the clinic.
Medical Review Officer Services
Dr. John B. Woods performs the duties of a Medical Review Officer and is certified by MROCC. For each non-negative drug screen, the donor is contacted and interviewed to determine whether or not there is a legitimate reason why a drug is present in the specimen. The donor’s employer is notified with the results in accordance with DOT regulations.
Breath Alcohol Testing
All Breath Alcohol Technicians are certified according to DOT Guidelines and regulations. All equipment meets the federally approved requirements.
DOT Physicals
Thorough exams are done by Dr. Wallwork who is qualified to determine the ability of a driver to perform his duties safely and in accordance with DOT regulations. Any areas of concern such as Diabetes, Hypertension, Sleep Apnea, Vision, Hearing, and Medication use will be addressed and recommendations made.
Dr. Wallwork is a Certified Medical Examiner having been trained and tested to perform DOT exams according the the new Federal Guidelines.
Tennessee Drug Free Workplace Program
Assistance with this program is available. Drug screens are done in accordance with the program requirements. Dr. Wallwork functions as an MRO for employers and their companies.
Random Selection
Drivers or employees can be entered into our Random Selection Program for quarterly testing of drug and alcohol usage. End-of-year MIS reports will be available for audit and compliance purposes.
Physical Exams
Exams for DOT, post-offer, return-to-work and other purposes requiring the evaluation of the applicant’s physical ability to meet the essential functions of a job position can be done in accordance with DOT guidelines and/or your company policy.
Workers’ Comp
Dr. Wallwork understands the issues involved in treating work-related injuries. Patients can usually be seen the same day. First Aid or Limited Duty options are always considered. Return-to-Work forms detailing treatment plans and restrictions are always given. Phone calls to employers are made to coordinate these as well.
DNA Testing
Qualified collectors provide services for DNA testing for proof of paternity or identity. Results can be done for personal or court usage. Turnaround time is usually several days.
Our office has implemented all the necessary record keeping and reporting procedures required by FMCSA as of May 2014.
